Everything You Need To Know About Attending A Wedding

Getting your first wedding invitation can be super exciting. It’s always fun coming together to celebrate someone you care about with everyone else who feels the same. But, if you've never been to a wedding you may not know what to expect. Here are some tips to make sure your first wedding experience is a good one. 

1. RSVP

Make sure to RSVP! The invitation should have a date on it and keep this date in mind. Of course, you’re wanted at the wedding, but if you show up unexpectedly it’ll be a bit of a surprise and could cause issues considering you weren’t paid for. Also, it is disrespectful not to since time was taken to personally invite you.

2. Timing

Keep in mind how long it will take you to get to the venue. The last thing you want to do is show up late. Make sure to leave much earlier than you think you need to in case there is traffic or any incidents along the way.

3. Phones

There’s no doubt you’ll want to capture some pictures on your phone of the day. But, during the ceremony put it away and put it on silent. You don’t want your phone ringing to ruin the ceremony.

4. Clothing

If you’ve never dressed for a wedding before, spend some time researching what is appropriate and what is not. You don’t want to show up underdressed or in something that makes you look as if you’re heading to the club afterward. Also, if there is anything on the invitation about a dress code, follow it!

5. Party

At the reception, make sure to have a good time. If you’re just sitting down the entire time, the bride and groom will assume you’re not having fun. Get up and talk to people and celebrate the big day. You were invited because they wanted you there. Make sure they know you’re happy to be there!
