Your New Favorite Model: Karlie Kloss

In the modeling industry, you could say Karlie Kloss is almost a household name. Everyone knows her and loves her. What you may not know is this Victoria's Secret Angel is more than just that. Here are some reasons why Karlie is one of the best in the industry.

  1. Karlie has an interest in both helping the community and coding. She put the two together to launch a scholarship program called Kode With Klossy to give back to young girls who shared the same passion. She also sets up summer programs for girls to teach them how to code and learn that computer science is a cool thing.
  2. Yes, she does her share of glamorous photo shoots and runway shows. But, on her days off, she is often seen in public doing normal things with no makeup. This is cool because a lot of celebrities won’t even be seen without makeup or heels. She isn’t too different from all of us!
  3. She has also been known to support charities! She has notably supported the American Foundation for AIDS Research, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, just to name a few. It’s not every day you see models giving back to things they truly care about, and Kloss sets a good example.
  4. In 2015, she paired with Momofuku Milk Bar in New York to sell a special recipe which she called Karlie’s Kookies. For each tin of these cookies sold, 10 meals would be donated to starving children all over the world.
  5. Karlie even has her own Youtube channel called Klossy! She uploads on a weekly basis anything from healthy cooking videos to just a glimpse into her life. She seems genuine and is a good role model. She generally keeps her image clean which is respectable, especially in the modeling industry.

Hopefully, you learned something new and next time you see Karlie Kloss in your magazine or on the runway you’ll remember a couple of these things. Be sure to let us know on Facebook or Instagram if you see her anywhere!
