But that’s not what we want. We want you to enjoy every step of the wedding planning process, which is why we have put together a checklist to help you navigate the months and days leading to your wedding day.

12 Months to D-Day

Choose and Book a Wedding and Reception Venue
Look into wedding service companies such as photographers and videographers, caterers, music, makeup, etc (You can already book at this point if you’re sure)
Decide on your wedding décor and research wedding planners who can bring your wedding day dreams to life.
Design and send out save the Date cards if your family and friends need to be informed very early

8 to 10 Months to D-Day

Begin pre-marital courses (if necessary)
Reach out to rental companies for your ceremony
Choose your wedding cake and place an order if the client is often busy.
Look into honeymoon locations; book accommodation and flights (especially if your wedding is happening in a busy season)

6 to 8 Months to D-Day

Choose and shop for your wedding dress and groom’s suit (some boutiques might have wedding dresses handy immediately, but in some cases, you’ll need to place an order, which will take time to deliver.)

If you’re making a unique choice such as Beach Wedding Dresses or Long Sleeve Wedding Dresses, you should go in search of them as early as possible.

Start deciding on what to wear and do on your honeymoon based on the location you have already chosen
Check and update your passports if necessary
Begin planning a pre-wedding party for friends, family, or your bridesmaids. (Your chief bridesmaid should be in charge of this)

4 to 6 Months to D-Day

Shop for bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen suits
Choose wedding invitation cards and stationery
Look into all legal necessities, including getting an officiant
Make a list of wedding gifts
Decide on order of wedding ceremony
Organize accommodation and transportation for wedding guests

2 to 3 Months to D-Day

Send wedding invitations and have someone in charge of RSVPs
Schedule dress fittings and makeup trials
Buy wedding rings, accessories, shoes, etc.
Schedule meal tasting

1 Month to D-Day

Check in on all suppliers and clients
Finalize all orders
Review guest list
Prepare any special gifts
Meet photographer and videographer to decide on shots, angles, and moments to capture
Hand the caterers and wedding venue the number of guests plus table plan.

1 Week to D-Day

Confirm schedule and arrangement with all wedding suppliers and wedding site managers.
Print table place cards
Schedule care sessions (manicure, waxing, massage, etc)
Pack for wedding, reception, and honeymoon.

3 Days to D-Day

Go for final fitting (bride, groom, train)
One last conversation with all vendors including wedding vehicle.
Prepare a schedule for D-Day

1 Day to D-Day

Hand over schedule and all details to the person who will oversee all wedding activities.
Give details of wedding planner to all vendors.
Make all final payments
Have a brief rehearsal ceremony (plus a mini-party)
