A formal wedding is an occasion celebrating love and dedication. It’s a day that involves beauty and elegance. Well, the perfect dressing can either make or break your day.
Understanding the dress code
Wedding guest dresses could range from black tie to white or a rather formal version of the sweeping doesn’t look very black at all. Knowing the dress codes is essential to avoid confusion and misunderstanding.
1. Black Tie. This is one of the most popular dress codes observed at formal weddings. It requires a black tuxedo or dark suit along with bow tie and necktie.
2. White Tie. This is the highest level of a dress code because it requires wearing a white dinner jacket and black shoes. Women could wear floor-length gowns in any color other than white.
3. Formal Black-Tie Optional. It provides guests with the choice of a black tie wedding guest dresses or some other informal option such as dark suit and necktie for men, open-collar shirt. Women wear evening gowns or cocktail dresses.

Men's Formal Attire
Regarding men’s formal dress, there are certain elements that attribute to the design of a typical formal suit.
1. Jacket. Wear a single-breasted jacket with peak lapels in black tie events, and when the occasion is casual wear notch lapel. A woolen or another good quality outfit like a tweed-type jacket should be worn during winter weddings.
2. Trousers. Choose trousers, either the replica of your jacket color or just a classic black to dress up in events. Make sure they fit snugly and are flat with no creases.
3. Shirt. Alternatively, if it’s an elegant evening at a black-tie event opt to wear a white dress shirt with cuff links. For dressy but not formal, choose a white or another color spread collar shirt to complete your suit.
4. Accessories. Ensure to match up your tux with proper matching accessories such as the appropriate type of bow tie or necktie, belt, and shoes.

Women's Formal Attire
And regarding formal wedding guest dresses, women can also have various options. If they will, prefer and feel good, pantsuits could take a dress or gown she may decide on.
1. Dresses. Wear full-length dresses with elegant fabrics such as silk or satin and colors that are classic and deep. For casual occasions, select more subtle colors.
2. Gowns. Long dresses may be mandatory for a white-tie event. As a rule, no one but brides can afford to wear white. Make sure that the gown is not too loose. Opt to buy one for plus size wedding guest dresses if you’re searching for your size. On your big day, do not dress in very decorated gowns as they can distract from the bride’s attire.
3. Pantsuits. Women favor pants that are made of high-quality wool or silk and traditional shades like navy blue or gray. To coordinate with the dress, add a suitable topper or coat.

Seasonal and venue dressing
If you’re planning a winter wedding, steer clear of lightweight fabrics such as linen or cotton because it is cold outside and instead select warmer materials like wool or tweed. In the summer do not wear garments made of heavy fibers such as wool, instead opt for linen or cotton fabrics so that you won’t sweat.
